How to remove drawers on chests and dressers?
It is often necessary to remove drawers from a case to remove items that become stuck, or to remove the top drawer to gain accessibility to the screws that secure the top to the case sides and back when making repairs. (Note: make sure the case is free of items in the drawer and that nothing is left on top to fall.) To remove the drawer – pull the drawer until you feel a tension-stop, then place one hand in the top middle front of the drawer and one underneath in the middle and give it a quick yank – the drawer will over-ride the drawer stop and become easy to remove. Be careful not to cut your hands on the metal part of the drawer guide. (If this is a problem, see your local dealer or local handy repairman.)
What I need to know about Carolina Bed Frames and Rails?
The factory carries metal bed frames or wood & metal bed rails for all of our beds. When you’re setting up and planning your new bedroom, people often ask, do I need a bed frame or bed rails? What is the difference between these two items? Aren’t they the same? Although bed rails and bed frames are both designed to support your mattress set, they do have some major differences. Bed frames are used when all you need is support for the mattress, foundation, or box spring, such as attaching the mattress set to a HEADBOARD ONLY with no footboard. Bed rails are used to attach the mattress set to a HEADBOARD AND FOOTBOARD. When selecting bed rails, your bed set-up must require a slotted headboard and footboard with bed pins inserted from the factory that work together to catch hooks located on each end of the bed rails. Wood or metal bed rails serve basically the same purpose except when matching finishes you may prefer wood bed rails rather than metal ones. Some bed set-ups work best when using wood bed rails – ex: when using an under bed storage unit. Make sure the bed rails are designed to attach to your HEADBOARD AND FOOTBOARD. Visit our accessories web page for bed frame or bed rail products. All bed rails offered by CFW, Inc. (wood or metal) are the hook-on type and all bed frames offered by CFW, Inc. are metal and the bolt-on type.
